My friend never texts me back or calls me back?

I asked my friend why does she never call me back or text me back and she said it is because she is busy and does not check her phone that often. The funny part is I see her hang out with other people. I asked is it because you do not want to be my friend?, because if not, I am fine with that, but she said that is not the reason, just busy and not checking her phone. I think she is lying, what do you think?

Maybe she just doesn't want to hurt your feelings but doesn't really think you should hang out anymore. Happened to me once, I just started talking to other people and know I don't really worry about it.
