Amazon sent me a TV by error, what should I do?
I was recently shopping for a TV during the Black Friday week and found a good price on a smart TV, i proceeded to purchase it and have it shipped overnight.Well after about 2 days the package never arrived nor did the status update I contacted Amazon which then directed me to the carrier which then directed me back to amazon, I called about a good 10 to 15 times to try to resolve the issue. Amazon would tell me the package had been handed over to the carrier and the carrier would tell me they had not received a package it was just like this back and forth, neither would tell me when to expect my package. After dealing with both companies amazon simply told me it is possibly lost and for me to wait it out. After I heard this i proceeded to request a refund for my order and for them to either cancel shipment of item or redirect it. They refunded me and told me the package would not arrive. I took my refunded money to my local Best Buy and purchased the same exact TV for a lower price. A couple of days later, I come home to find a huge box in my living room from amazon which was the TV they had "not shipped" (according to the carrier) or had redirected(according to Amazon). Now here is the question, Do I contact Amazon to let them know I have their package or do I hold on to it and see if they contact me? Here is my logic, when my package was "lost" not once did i receive a call let alone an email from a concerned amazon representative and when I would contact them they would basically say tough luck you have to wait. My point is, why should I have to contact a company due to an error they made, when in fact they made no effort to resolve let alone contact me about my extremely late package? I am not a scamer, I have not opened the package i put it away in a safe place away from damage and I feel no obligation to resolve their issue but i will be glad to return their package when and only when they themselves contact me. what do you think, what is your logical though process on this issue?

I would hold on to it until they contact you. I definitely understand how you feel, and why you are reluctant to contact them first. Still, once they make contact, you should agree to send the item back.

You should contact Amazon and let them know the situation.
Ethically, the TV belongs to them. Keeping it would be fraud.

Contact amazon and tell them about the product. Or you will have to face legal issues. They will investigate the loss.
