How to not let his looks effect me not liking him?

So this boy I haven't seen in 7 years gave me his number on fb a while ago... Anyways I ended up really liking him, but we skyped the other day and he is just not the most attractive person... After seeing him it was like all my feeling for him went away... I don't want to be this type of person! What can I do to like him again? Or what should I do?
