I have the adware, EXEchecker, on my computer. On Google Chrome, it's listed as an extension, but doesn't allow me to delete it for some reason. It isn't on my list of programs on my control panel when I go to uninstall it. Why? Please help, these ads are getting annoying!

Its one of those stubborn viruses thats why i use Malwarebytes to remove these buggers and annoyances. It may take some time, so be patient (Labeled red means viruses). Then right click and select all and then click remove selected. Also delete files inside the quarantine tab. Restart and it should start to be faster. Run the malwarebytes program to check again and if no more red labeled then you have no more viruses. To future protection, run an antivirus program and check Windows update for updates. I use Microsoft Essentials on my PC because its Windows 7. Windows 8, and 8.1 on my laptop already has built in antivirus + anti malware guard built in, so no need.
