I use mozilla firefox, and this keeps opening in a new tab without me clicking anything. How do I get rid of it? I'm pretty sure it's malware or scam.

Download and run a full scan with Malwarebytes. Sounds like malware to me.

Mozilla isnt a .com website. NEVER install 3rd party software onto firefox, since its a standalone application with its own add-ons. M suggest to you is 4 steps:
1) go to mozilla.org and download the most recent version of firefox, dont install till step 3 2) uninstall firefox on your computer, including preferences and cache 3) reinstall firefox using the .bin file you had downloaded in step 1 4) click on the firefox thingy in the top left corner of the firefox window, click add-ons and install adblock If this doesnt work then you most certainly have a backdoor trojan and you should format your HD since theyre notoriously difficult to get rid of. In fact, using a program like malwarebytes will most likely open your system up to more specific attacks including identity theft and ghosting. |
