Why Do I Feel Like the "Other Woman"?

Why Do I Feel Like the "Other Woman"?
In college, I was friends with this guy. Then one day he tells me he can't be my friend anymore because he's engaged (I didn't know that) and since he said he developed feelings for me.

Once I started working, I also became friends with this other guy. His fb says he's single, but his work profile (I was compiling records for our accounting department) says he's married.

Why do I keep attracting married men who do not say they are married? I dress modestly and am not a flirt. Why would married guys keep gravitating towards me? And what can I do to stop this? This is getting annoying.

You are the other woman to him. Not insulting you but this is how everyone would view you as.

"His fb says he's single, but his work profile (I was compiling records for our accounting department) says he's married. "
-- He forgot to change his status or unaware of it.

"Why do I keep attracting married men who do not say they are married? I dress modestly and am not a flirt. "
-- That may be but perhaps it is your appearance or beauty that they find most appealing. So that is why they communicate with you, or as you say, attract married men.

"Why would married guys keep gravitating towards me? And what can I do to stop this?"
-- Again, I answered above. IN order to stop, you as an individual need to ignore them. You want to make sure you keep this at a friend level. Progressing such relationship further than friend will only cause you to lose your job.

You could see this the other way around. Why are married men denying that they are married and becoming a little to friendly with young single women. Its probably just a coincidence, maybe you only find yourself able to relate to people who passed being young and reckless. A man who is married is stereotypically more mature and responsible. Married men are attractive, it says they are capable of settling down and are willing to me long term and monogamous which could lead to procreation and passing on their genes to the next generation.
