How does Squidoo work?

I'm new to affiliate marketing, and I'm researching all the different ways to do affiliate marketing. Does anyone have a pretty good grasp on how Squidoo works? Because I want to learn how to do all of this so I can also teach friends that are jobless and needs to make a few bucks in between looking for a job.

You can search online tutorial for squido lens its not too hard to work on it but if you don,t know about squiddo then you can work on wordpress.com and blogger.com.
