Should I share my art?
Hello everyone. X)
First of all... I don't know if I can safely say that I'm an "artist", but I do know that I enjoy to doodle/draw/take it easy from time to time XP. So last week, I was talking with a friend of mine that also has a shared interest in drawing. And on some seldom occasions, we will share our drawings or ideas, and give each other tips ect. So anyways, last week, while sharing our drawings and such, she was like "duuuuuuude... You should put this stuff online and stuff bro... You should just all like Instagram this stuff..." Little side note... I've known her for a little over 4 years. And that is seriously how she talks. Lol not gonna lie, it's still a little off putting XD. Anyways... I digress... Back to my really drawn out and painfully slow question. I've never really seriously thought about putting my doodles online for my friends (or people in general) to see. Maybe because of the simple fact that they are just doodles lol. Also if you met me, you would soon come to learn that I'm not very popular, I'm painfully shy, not super outgoing, and quite awkward XP and some even might find that they need to add the word "nerd" into the description (lol but that really depends on which one of the popular kids at my high school you asked X,D hahahah)... But on a more serious note, I like the idea of sharing drawings, because just me personally I really like seeing other peoples creations. But like I said that's just me. So what I fear is that people will view it as showing off. I don't know... Maybe I'm just in my head too much, I don't know... So I guess the bottom line question is... Should I?

"The best gift you can give to someone is your time, because you're giving them something you can never get back."

So thanks to anyone who gave their time to read this. I appreciate it! =)

Hello there,
The first thing I would say to is never stop drawing ! Sounds like you have a passion there and that drawing is very important to you.
I understand your fear of 'being on show' I think I would feel the same ! You could always start off in a small way, if it's Instagram you want to put your pictures on you could always set it to 'private user' which would mean only you would see your pictures. That way it would give you a chance to see lots of your pictures all together and it might give you the confidence ( I bet your drawings are great) to share them with everyone else when you feel ready.
My dad used to say to me ( when I was a very quiet and shy teenager...many moons ago) that drawing and painting were the only way I could really express myself and I did eventually go on to art college, which I really enjoyed, and being with others who had a flair for art.
Keep drawing what interests you and what you feel passionate about, and always get back up and back on it if you ever get any knock downs, don't let anything or anyone put you off your Art, ever !
Good luck with your future and be the artist you truly are.

I think if it's something you want to do then yes, it's no way showing off and people love to see what other's have created, I know I do at least =)

A good site for sharing artwork is Deviantart, it's free and beginners to advanced artists can share their work in a great community, they have categories too such as doodles, works in progress, fan art, digital art too much too list really lol. I've rarely ever seen a troll or someone being nasty either.
