how can I remove conduit.com toolbar from my PC?
Is there any way of removing the Conduit.com tool bar from my Windows &7 PC?
It does not show up in the list of programs and features, so it cannot be removed that way. I just cannot find it anywhere.
I have tried several anti-malware programs, including Malwarebyte and Superantispyware, but they cannot find it either.
My Avast anti-spyware program has a tool that is supposed to remove unwanted tools from my computer, but it does not work on Conduit, which is a vicious piece of malware that hijacks your default browser homepage, and slows down the computer.
It has installed itself on Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. I should be able to remove any unwanted toolbars quite easily from these browsers - but it does not work on Conduit.
If anyone is smart enough to have found a way of disabling Conduit I will be glad to hear from them.

Ok, the best way I did it was that I went to settings on what ever program you use and go to extensions, and click the trashcan, then what you wanna do is go back to settings and click on manage search engines and just click the x on it, now go to My PC and uninstall everything that deals with conduit.

Don't download those anitmalware things, they never seem to work for my PC

It may not show up in the list of programs, but it is technically there. Open up the Control Panel. Click, Uninstall a Program. (You can find it easier in Category View). Then click the program and uninstall it that way.

Anyway, the reason Avast will not remove the software is because it only removes software or files that are harmful to your computer.

First uninstall whatever could have been bundled with the Conduit- some of those programs are listed here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard, Install, in the left hand column select the "Old Prefetch data" box- leave other defaults checked- click the "Run Cleaner" button (bottom right). When done, go to "Tools"> "Startup" and search through every tab from Windows through Context Menu for suspicious entries, things you don't need, not sure of, click "Disable"(re-enable it later if you need). Select and "Delete" ITEMS YOU WANT DEAD.

Search for counduit.com in registry editor after, to verify it has indeed been deleted if not delete any values in the registry that has conduit.com in it.
Hope this helps.

Download AdwCleaner. Run a scan, restart PC, should be gone. Here it is, free. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

That stuff works.

IObit Uninstaller. Download it free. It has a section where you can uninstall just toolbars. It creates a restore point if you check the box. After uninstalling, you have the option to further scan your system for left over files and can even shred the files. They now have IObit Unlocker : which helps to uninstall programs that won't let you uninstall them using other programs. I love this IObit and their products. High recommend and they are free to boot. Smile

To remove the Conduit.com from your Internet Explorer, just run your browser, go to “Tools”, select “Add-ons”; within the appearing list, locate and click on Conduit Search and click Uninstall to continue. Then, check your Google Chrome now: click on Chrome menu button; go to Tools, Extensions, select Conduit.com and click trashcan icon to remove it.
