What should I do if I fell for a modeling scam?
Im new to the modeling industry & a few days ago, someone name Michelle Williams inboxed me on Facebook saying she came across my profile on Model Mayhem & that she works for IMG Models which is a huge modeling agency in New York & they're interested in me. I was so excited because 2 of my favorite supermodels are represented by them. So we did an online interview over Skype & like I said, I was extremely excited that an agency such as IMG was interested in me, I didnt think anything of it... Anyway I answered a few "application questions", then she asked me to.get into a bikini for a body evaluation. So I got into a biki & did the evaluation. Then she asked me if I was interested in doing high fashion modeling, comes with nudity & she asked me to take off mybikini to do another evaluation... Silly of me, I did it. Again, not thinking nothing of it. After the interview was over, she said was going to contact her boss or secretary or something to see when she can meet with me in person. This morning I called the IMG Models office in New York to see if this Michelle Williams person work there & they said its a scam, dont do anything she tells you. Now idk what to do because there could be nude picture of me floating around anywhere by now. I told my husband about the agency but he doesn't know about the scam part yet... I feel so stupid that I couldn't see right through it & im embarrased to tell my husband about it. I really want to get a lawyer & find this person & sue them & put them behind bars... What should I do. Please help!

Hon, you probably aren't the only one they've targeted so you need to go to the police and file a report. And, the FBI. There's a link for reporting internet crimes - that's a partnership between the FBI and other organizations - here's the link, if you don't trust the link here, it's the Interne Crime Complaint Center you can google it and link yourself. http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

Know this, women, and girls, are very vulnerable to these kinds of things because they are so desperately wanting this - it's an old scam with a different means of perpetrating it now that there's internet. It used to be girls approached on streets and go meet a guy privately for pictures and then she's be photographed, maybe even raped or worse. You also need to notify facebook and all the company names that this offender used - Model Mayhem needs to know and so does IMG, so that they can be aware and take some kind of action to protect themselves and anyone who wants to go to them. IMG can alert the public that they are being victimized too. You need to set aside your embarrassment at what happened. And you might even consider spreading the word so it doesn't happened to anyone else.

NO model agency would ever ask you to go on Skype or take off clothes. You need to IMMEDIATELY contact the police to report this. As they contacted you on Skype the police should be able to trace them by their IP address. A lawyer can't do anything unless the police can find the person so you must file a police report. If they are targeting you I can bet they are targeting underage girls as well

He almost scammed me just now. Im reporting him. Soon as she said you cant see me I knew something was up its ok to investigate to see if things are real or not but with caution. When he or she said get in bikini or underwear knew it wasn't real silly me I usually research first. oh well. report this person on model mayhem.
