Does Twitter and Facebook drain battery in Airplane Mode?

As my question is. Does Twitter and Facebook drain battery in Airplane Mode??
I'm asking this because sometimes I go to long roads and chargers unavailable. Don't wanna turn off my nexus 7, and no internet connection.

I want to know thank you.
I mean at Facebook and Twitter apps from Play Store

In Airplane mode, it disables all the means of connecting to anything else than just your device alone, it isolates itself to just focus in whats inside the phone.
So the answer is NO , it won't drain your battery, but it's better not to leave the app open or running in the background.
