yes it's still popular, but i don't understand why your classmate said that. who is s/he to decide where you should be and what is popular? are we all supposed to do whats "in" and "popular"?

of course its still popular. i agree that many people have twitter and instagram accounts now, that they also use but facebook isnt going anywhere just yet. In my opinion facebook is pretty much twiiter and instagram combined anyway. and your classmates' comment is stupid

Yes.But Facebook is meaningless to actuall popularity.You are not some picture on a web page.To me,FB is just a waste of time.
