i don't know any of my boyfriend's friends or family?

he never brings me around anybody ever. and every time i try bringing him around my friends he avoids it, but he likes my immediate family. i've only met his family maybe twice. and he never lets me go to his house anymore (he never did in the beginning either, but i think it's because he has a lot of family problems even though his friends go over so idk)
it's just a really strange relationship to me. i want to be seen as a couple with him and involve him in my social life but he doesn't want to. i've tried talking to him but he avoids the subject completely and then gets mad when i keep bringing it up.
he's not embarrassed or ashamed of me or hides our relationship because he puts pictures of me/us on his social media so i really don't understand at all...
we're both 21 and have been dating a year
