If I get a cable interent, can my ex still hack into my computer?
I have AT&T internet and somehow my ex hacked into it from his computer. He knows what websites I go to and what I'm doing online...everything! I'm thinking of canceling my AT&T acct and switching to cable interent with different cable modem. Will he still be able to hack in?
@ World Dominator - I did full-scan on my computer and nothing was wrong w/ it. I think it's the internet. He never used my computer and lives far away from my house. So my best guess is the internet. Ads |

He have most likely affected your PC and not your internet.. "Most likely".
In that case, I would rather scan my PC with an antivirus or maybe even format the whole thing. Lots of tricks that does not count as viruses can be done if someone have (or had in the past) physically contact with your PC. - Allright, well internet hacking is out of my knowledge ![]() Im just saying, this is far more likely ![]() Ads |

There are many many ways he could have done this.
Look, Google tracks all the websites you visit while logged into ANY of their services. REF: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/54068?hl=en If your ex knows your Google password, he could see a list of the sites you visited without any hacking whatsoever. However, you can put a stop to it: either change your Google password or change the settings here: https://www.google.com/history Like I said, this is only one of many possibilities. |

There are many ways a hacker can get into your PC and find out what you are doing, obviously this requires you to have an internet connection but it doesn't really make a difference if the problem lies with your PC.
I.e. if he's sent you a picture, a video, a link, an email etc. etc. any one of those things can have a hidden application inside them that runs, records key-presses, web history, etc. This is the most likely cause, as all the Internet Service Provider does is connect you, nothing else. You have 3 main options: 1, Search and search for whatever could be allowing him to spy on you, look for applications you never installed (these can be remotely installed, he doesn't even have to be within a thousand miles of your PC to affect it) 2, Format your PC and re-install the operating system, this is complex and you'd probably need to pay a PC specialist to do it, can't imagine it would cost that much but it would still cost something. 3, Go to the police, what he's doing is totally illegal and if a restraining order or the likes are imposed upon him, he could be put in prison for repeat offending. Before going to the police I'd suggest talking to him about it, he should not be spying on you. Changing your provider is unlikely to make any difference. Good luck. Miles |
