Provide unique and quality content, also you must have good back links but if you want to rise for short period of time you might be using Black Hat SEO which is not recommended

Improving ranking is what SEO is all about, aside from making your content more accessible to the search spiders, which is Google's idea of SEO, getting backlinks from other sites still remains a key to improving ranking, despite Google saying "any links obtained for the purposes of manipulating search ranking is a violation of terms" it's standard procedure, just go slow and steady, mixing up the sources to maintain a "natural" backlink profile.

Here's a Search Engine Optimization primer by an SEO authority, too much of the stuff taught by others is out of date or simply inaccurate.

Content is the key, and it must be epic! Great SEO platforms have raised the bar on content quite high, and one must aim high. This will results in quality backlinks and this is the best way to go at it.
You must create interaction between your readers, get them to like/share/follow your links, and once they've ended up on your website, it's all up to your content to transform a casual visitor into a customer.

-You need to build back-links periodically rushing straight towards building the back links may get you penalized !
