is there any way to catch and identify a computer stalker, hacker cyberbully?
hi,

im a disabled female adult and for the past 3 years ive been stalked over the internet and someone told me they hacked my computer.

they told me they are spying on me and can see and hear me but i dont know how. they contacted me online and desribed the inside of my home and what objects were near my computer desk, what i was wearing, my shoes etc, my hairstyle that day.

i dont know much about computers or what advanced technology hackers have in 2014. but the person stalks me online and finds me at every social media account even if i change my names and passwords or my fake facebook account with a made up name. when i go into a chat room under an anonymous name and new name each time he automatically finds me in the chat and pms me and tells me he knows its me. then he tells me what i looked up on my computer and what i searched for on google and other activities on my computer no one would know. so he can see my computer and every thing i type.

he claimed one time that he has a friend in the military so he has advanced hacking abilities. i never clicked on a strange link in any email. i even got new computers a few times and he was still able to track me and see what im doing online even with brand new computers when i didnt click on any thing. he has gone under fake identities to get me to talk to him or he has paid people in other countries to talk to me and send messages to me from him.

he would send messages to one guy in india and have the guy send those messages to me. or maybe he uses a proxy or reroutes the server.

i think this guy is dangerous because he is getting more hostile and in the past 2 months hes been saying death threats to me. i think hes delusional and believes he wants to marry me. so he has been saying threats and harrasing me.

is there any way i can track this guy and get solid proof of who he is exactly? so that i can issue a restraining order and keep myself safe.

i know in my gut instinct who the guy is but that is not enough proof for police. to say well he says he is this guy and i think it is this person. i think they need to track the harrasment back to his computer. im not sure?

how can i catch the person even if they use advanced technology to hide themselves? im disabled so the person is exploiting me. so thats 2 crimes.

any way to get solid proof of who is doing this? even if they hide their identitiy and reroute it through linux or some thing.

and it upsets me that he follows me to every chat room i go to. he used to follow me at yahoo and i switched to another chat room and he goes there now to contact me under fake names and then tells me who he is.

Most "social media" sites they give users the options to either BLOCK OR REPORT, you can block him 1st, then report when he works his way through that. If he actually can use your webcam you have what they call Ratware (always something new), and its a Trojan that can most likely be killed and deleted with this: Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://askleo.com/internet_safety_8_step..._internet/ You have to take his hands, eyes, and ears out of your computer. PLEASE tell me which anti-virus program and windows version (If Windows), you currently have and I'll suggest ways to increase your computers security. Once you cut off his access to your computer, he will have NO LEVERAGE against you. He won't be able to stalk you, harass you, or marry you- he'll move on to the next defenseless victim.

make notes of all the times and places (eg. Facebook) he contacts you. keep notes of email header details, everything you can gather.

try to see if a firewall etc will show the IP address of who is attacking you. see if you can find the IP range on whois, to find the ISP (internet service provider), contact them about it. if you can't, then contact your ISP. they should investigate it and eventually sort the problem.

--- advice on how to sort a secure setup ---

try using a Linux system like Linux mint xfce edition.

report him everywhere.

put blutak over the camera (and mic? not sure how useful that would be).

try something like this http://www.comodo.com/business-security/...e-disk.php (then setup the following)
get a good firewall like comodo, get avast or avg antivirus. and comodo secure DNS. doing scans with just one antivirus program is not enough, each detect different results. these are good:
-- dr web cureit http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/?lng=en (select object for scanning, check all)
-- housecall http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/ (use settings to choose extended scan)

get a new router and setup good security for it, like hidden and encrypted WiFi (WPA), firewall, long complicated passwords for WiFi and router, if possible change router username (I think that's referred to as SSID), keep firmware upgraded.

disable Windows remote access/desktop sharing.

disable Windows network discovery and printer sharing,

We endorse making use of http://www.vpnpower.net for you to unblock websites. I've been using them since 4 years.
