You are taking it wrong, 100 Mbps is your network card's speed, your network card installed in your computer is capable of handling maximum of 100 Mbps speed. Your internet will generally be slower than that. The maximum speed of internet in India is just 32 Mbps, i think so.

So check it out!! Also in common you get only 1/8th speed in ur download from your internet. There are also software available for better speed during download such as IDM...try it out. Gud luk.

Your LAN connection speed is 100 Mbps. Your internet connection speed is determined by the service you get from your ISP and sometimes the download speed is set by the site you are downloading the files from. Getting 90-97 kbps sounds like you have a speed of 512 k. Go to http://www.2wire.com and click on the speed meter to get the exact speed.

The 100 mbps is the hard wired connection speed to the router. Wireless is less about 54mbps. 90-97kbs is slow. Are you sure this is right? What type of connection do you have ? Dial up, cable or DSL? Test at this site:

http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/bw.asp

Write back about the results as there are things you can do to speed up the connection.

Your 100mbps connection is most likely not your actual Internet speed. The highest speed available to home users is generally 15mbps, with an Internet speed of 100mbps being prohibitively expensive and generally only used by corporate enterprises.

What you're most likely looking at is your Ethernet connection to your router or modem--your Ethernet port is communicating with the router or modem at the maximum speed, which in your case is 100mbps. However since your Internet connection is most likely 1.5mbps (or if using cable, it may be ~750kbps). Even though your computer is communicating with your router or modem at 100mbps, data from the Internet is only streaming in at 1.5mpbs (or whatever your service provides), so that is your ultimate Internet connection speed.

It's also important to note that network communication is always measured in megaBITS per second. The 1.5mpbs means 1.5 megaBITS. The value you mentioned--the 90-97 value--is in kiloBYTES per second. Based on the fact that you're getting around 90-97 as your maximum, I'm guessing your maximum Internet speed is around 750 kilobits per second, which is unaffected by your 100mbps Ethernet connection to your router. A byte consists of 8 bits, so if you're getting 1.5 megabits per second as your Internet speed, you can expect download speeds of about 180 to 197 kilobytes per second. Or with 750 kilobits per second, you will get around 95 kilobytes per second as your download speed, which based on your description is right on target.

It's normal speed.
Again you can check your internet connection speed by using the http://www.ip-details.com/internet-speed-test/ .
