Out of the many free hosts I have tested I like http://www.000webhost.com/ the best. Here is a great list of free hosts that includes all the information about each one that you need.

There are plenty of places but I would not advise you to go for free hosting. Many people don't realise that when using "free hosting" their website could be pulled down at any time. Read the article below

There are tons of tips and websites such as .co.nr that will host your website for free. However, you will not usually get any traffic to these websites. This is because these subdomain type sites are not indexed by search engines.
