Help with Xbox Live internet connection?
I live in an apartment that has a high speed internet connection. It is not wireless, but I have an Ethernet cable running from the outlet in the wall to my xbox. For some reason, my xbox will not connect to the internet when I have the cable plugged in. The same cable will work on my roommates Ps3 and I am not sure why I can't connect to the internet. Do I need to buy a router or what can I do to make this work? Thanks
Yes it connects to my laptop fine and works. What do you mean by is it live? I believe it gets an ip address

Can you connect a PC to that internet connection? Are you sure it is live?
Can the xbox get an IP address?
