Sharing Internet Connection from XP to 7 systems?
I've been trying to configure my wireless connection on my XP netbook (acer aspire 1) to be shared with my windows 7 tower (hp compaq dc5750), but it's not working. When I first tried, i simply plugged an ethernet cable in at both ends and it worked, but now something's not working. I have enabled internet connection sharing on the host pc, and tried both manual and automatic dns + ip settings. I use the tower for online gaming, especially steam. It would suck to have no internet, as that means no steam games. Please help me out!

If you're having problem with the Ethernet Cable, try connecting your netbook with Wireless & your PC with the Ethernet so that both connections would be direct from the router.

Basically the host (in your case Acer Aspire 1) should have 2 NICs. One points to the external (internet) and the other to the internal (switch, router, hub) network.

Have a look at the following link
