Check Craigslist help please?!!?

I was trying to sell a Paris Hilton celebritystyler on Craigslist for $75..
A man responded that he really needs it and that he will send me a check by mail and after I cash it someone will call me and pick it up and that he lives in another state so he added extra money for me to give the person who's going to pick it up and ship it to him..
So I gave him my first name, last name and address.
Today I received a check by FedEx by an unknown person from Texas for $2200.00 written by a computer with that extra long sheet that you tear. I can tell its original
So I'm kinda freaking because I was not even expecting $150
And I'm afraid that the check is stolen or something and when I cash it I might get caught..
But I'm currently unemployed, not expecting any checks..
HELP WHAT DO I DO???????
What's the difference between cashing and depositing?
I still have the envelope..
Should I go tomorrow to the police station?

most likely counterfeit just tell them you only do busiess locally
craigslist is ripe with scammer
mostly you will be told he overpayed you and could you wire the overpayment

Highly likely that the check will bounce back a week after you cash it.
Actually, I'll go further: he'll tell you he made a mistake with the check and ask you to wire him the remaining $2000 back and keep $50 for your trouble.
So he's expecting you to deposit it, the check gets initially deposited on your account, pending final validation, you use that money to pay him back, then the check gets bounced: you're $2000 out of your money AND have to pay for the bouncing fees.

You want my recommendation? DO NOT cash it/deposit it. Tell him you deposited it, thank him for the extra tip in the check, and ask him where he wants you to send the styler, if he tells you to send the rest of the money back at him, contact your closest FBI and/or police office without delay. I hope you kept the envelope the check came in.
