Girls only! Meeting a girl from my Uni (over FB)?
Hello everyone,

This question is for girls only as I'm dealing with a girl. Tongue

There's this girl which I accidentally bumped into on Facebook (we wanted to attend the same event), She's actually a student at my University but unfortunately I don't know her in person. I would like to meet her in person. She also seems to be cautious/reserved as she has no "add friend" button. Now I have been chatting with her, she usually replies but seems kinda reserved.

Now I have 2 options:

1) Tell her what I really think. (Hey. I won't chat here anymore. I just find it stupid and artificial to communicate like this and I don't even like FB chat. However, you strike me as an interesting person and hence it would be cool if you could join me for some coffee at our university lounge bar)

2) Keep chatting, ask her more stuff and don't ask her to meet yet. But this feels weird.

I prefer 1). Which one do you think is better? I'm going for a semester abroad and would like to meet her soon. But of course, whatever will work.

Thank you for your answers, Yahoo Answers! Smile

1 is good. Girls generally prefer face to face too. Just don't phrase it like that...it makes you come off a bit...annoying. I mean, why have facebook if you don't want to chat? Why start chatting in the first place? (I know you have reasons, but this is how it's going to come across).

Try just "would you like to have coffee with me on xx in the uni lounge bar"? When you meet up, you can mention to her that you prefer chatting face to face.

How about finding her at the university and ask her out? But not too bold since she seems reserved/shy(?); just start a conversation and then casually ask if she wants to grab a cup of coffee. And if she says no, don't pressure her.
