Can law bodies ask companies to provide data?
I was just wondering that can law bodies like The Supreme Court or The High Court ask companies like Whatsapp and Facebook to provide data of their clients if asked to?

Absolutely. They can and do. They have to get a subpeona from a judge to do it.

Yes, that sort of thing happens all the time.
If you are wondering if the police can find out who you are when you post something stupid online, yes they can. Quite easily. |
