When I ask my girlfriend if we're in a relationship she gets cranky?

Been together for 4 months now but she won't answer the question and says "Do we have to talk about it, it is what it is". I tried to add that we were in a relationship on facebook but she wanted it removed as she doesn't feel comfortable sharing it on facebook.
