Google Chrome is not working?
My computer uses Google Chrome as its main search engine (have a yahoo answers account just for this.) One day i open google chrome and there is a seperate that has bing search engine. I told my computer to switch it back to google chrome, but it wouldnt let me, telling me it just prevented something from changing the search engine just now (which is me) i go to control panel and put google chrome as my default search engine and even signed in to goole, but it still takes me to bing. IDK whats wrong, and i want to go back to google permanently. I dont want to use bing i always used google. Could someone have hacked into my account, please help.

Set your default search engine

In Google Chrome, the address bar that sits at the top of the browser window (sometimes called the "omnibox") doubles as a search box. You can specify the search engine that the address bar should use by default for your searches.

If you're having trouble blocking pop-ups, saving your homepage or startup preferences, or setting your default search engine, then an unwanted program may have taken over your settings. Check out troubleshooting steps to help resolve your issue or try resetting your browser settings.

When you launch Chrome for the first time after installation, a bubble near the omnibox appears. It emphasizes that you can search directly in the omnibox with the default search engine, Google Search. If you'd like to change your default search engine, click Change to set a new one.

First run default search engine bubble

Set your default search engine
1.Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
2.Select Settings
3.In the "Search" section, select the search engine you want to use from the menu. If the search engine you want to use doesn't appear in the menu, click Manage search engines.
4.In the Search Engines dialog that appears, select the search engine that you'd like to use from the list.
5.Click the Make Default button that appears in the row.

If the search engine you want to use isn't on this list, you can first add it as a new search engine option.

If the "Make Default" button doesn't appear for the search engine you've selected, you may need to edit its URL.

A few tips on searching
•Address bar search
The quickest way to do a search in Google Chrome is to type your search term in the address bar, then press Enter.
•Right-click search
Highlight any text or image on a webpage with your cursor. Right-click (or control-click on a Mac) and select the option to do a search on your highlighted text or image.
•Paste and search
Highlight any text on a webpage with your cursor and copy it. When you're ready to search, right-click (or control-click on a Mac) the address bar and select Paste and search.
