Having really bad random internet connection moments...?
Hi,
I am having lately some terrible internet lag, i notice wile watching a live game or something and it keeps freezing for seconds at the time, playing online video games lags me like crazy.

But all this is random, some times it goes great for a long time, same with video games it works well for a wile then i get this huge lag out of nowere.

I called my internet service provider but they are telling me everything is fine and they can not send someone over.
Now i purchased a new router and picked up a new modem so i can once and for all end this problem..

But the problem is still here.

Please anyone with experience help me, i am very tired of these random terrible connection moments.

More info i am using cablevisions internet and having problems as much wired as wireless. I tried using a 2 different routers with the same result my new one is a cisco EA3500

Any information would be great, thank you.!!

If you have a windows machine and it started a month , maybe a little more ago it's probably windows automatic update hogging cpu cycles and nothing to do with your internet connection. If you open task manager and cpu usage is at or near 100% then look for a svchost.exe that is also near that level. They haven't come up with a patch yet. You can turn automatic updates off but don't kill the whole svchost.exe as it hosts about 19 processes. get sysinternal's Process Explorer , figure out how it works and then use it to kill automatic updates as often as necessary until microsoft fixes the problem.
