I have a slow internet connection but other devices connected on the same modem have fast connection?

I have a slow internet connection even though others connected on the same modem have a fast connection. This problem occurred recently, my connection was fine a few weeks ago. I have noticed that my connection slows down mostly when there are others connected on the internet at the same time as me, especially when my brother is connected with his laptop. I am not connected with a cable because there is a big distance between my pc and the modem and I can't bring the modem any closer. Also, I am using Google Chrome. Can somebody find a solution? (please excuse any grammar mistakes, english is not my mother language)

when you are using the internet certain amount of data travels through your DSL cable of whatever kind of connection you use,then your brother connects to the same internet connection and now instead of lets just say 400kb 800kb have to travel "on the same space" so the speed is reduced because you have to share it with your brother
