What does this girl mean by this?
I know that there are countless questions of teenagers asking questions about relationships on here, but I've found that no Google search can bring this information up to me haha.
****Kind of long, sorry****
Ok, so I've known this girl almost my whole life, since she moved here to Australia from England when we were in Grade 2 in 2007. We're 14 now. I only started talking to her and getting to know her around Grade 6, and it Grade 7 I started to like her. Now, in the 9th grade, I really, really like her. We are definitely friends, close friends even, since we have each other on Kik and talk a lot, and we've been out with our mutual friends a few times. She comes to me with a lot of problems and she can trust me, and vice versa. Well, she recently told me that she doesn't like being a girl and doesn't like being treated as one. She wants to be treated like a boy, not in terms of sexuality or gender-specific situations, but socially. Now, I know she's not lesbian, because she has stated to me many times how hot she thinks certain people are. Also, on her Instagram profile, in her Bio, she has 'Single 💔' written there. She has also, a few times, stated to me that she wants a boyfriend at some point. I was considering making my move, since we've become such good friends (I don't think I've been 'friendzoned', she still withholds some personal stuff from me), but I'm uncertain about what she meant by 'she hates being a girl and being treated like one'. Should I ask her out?

Look, you need to talk to her. As her friend, if she says she's unhappy, you should know why. Ask her, if not for your sake, for my sake; I hate it when perfect possibilities go to waste. If all she wants is gender equality, you tell her you like her, or you'll regret it.
