No internet connection but connected to network?
I recently setup my wireless network on my netgear router, but the problem is that although i am able to successfully connect to the network, there is no internet connection.

Sounds like either a misconfigured or failing router. Use your web browser to browse to either: 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.10.1 I think Netgear default is the 2nd one (192.168.0.1).

What you're seeing is your PC connecting to your router, but your router not connecting to the internet.

Set up your internet connection on the main config page. DSL uses PPPoE, Cable or Fiber will use DHCP/Dynamic. Make sure that DHCP is enabled. Apply and Save changes. Reboot PC if needed. This should get you online.

If you can't get online, your router's WAN/Internet port may be dead. Power surges can cause that and it often happens as the result of a thunderstorm.

For an unbeatable price on a wireless router, get this steal at Verizon. Yes, it will work anywhere any other consumer-grade router will work. Verizon service not required.

Edit:
It might also be your cable or DSL modem. You can test that by plugging your PC directly into it, bypassing your router.

Also try swapping the cable that connects your computer to the router with one you know works and see if that is the problem. If not, you might need to get a new network card. They're available on eBay for a couple of bucks and in local stores for less than $20.
