How do I find my Dallas, TX old phone number listing in 1999?

It's impossible to remember an old phone number - from 1999 in Dallas, Texas. AT&T linked the Yahoo email account to this number many years ago. (When it was the first "high-speed internet connection.") When password change was recently attempted, for increased security, that number was required to reset it or to even get back to the emails. Oh, boy! No longer able to use the Yahoo email account, and there were several important items there. Yahoo has been NO HELP and neither has AT&T. It was probably still Southwestern Bell in 1999.

Do you have an AT&T Yahoo account or do you have a "true" Yahoo account that you open from the Yahoo Web page? If you have an AT&T Yahoo account then you'll have to contact AT&T Support, Yahoo can't offer any support for an AT&T Yahoo account. When talking to them don't say you need help with your Yahoo account because they will just tell you to contact Yahoo. Tell them you can't access your email account and then give them your email address.

Here's how to use the automated web-based contact system.
Click one of the links above.
Click the "Contact Customer Care" link
under the Quick Links section to the right of your screen.
This should open the Yahoo Help form.

The Selected product should be "Yahoo Account"

"Under Topic" select "Password and sign in"
"Under Sub-topic" select "unable to sign in"
"Under Recommended options" Click on the Email link.

Complete the form as indicated. If you don't remember your Security Question or Security Answer enter "unknown". Yahoo will use the information you provide to verify you are the actual owner of the account. If they can't verify your information it's unlikely you will be able to recover your account.

Once you're able to change your password it would be a good idea to review your security questions and make changes if you don't remember your answers.

I recommend using a password manager like Keepass or LastPass to create and store strong unique passwords for the sites you visit. You can also save notes like your secret questions and answers to the password entries. LastPass can automatically log you in to any web site you have stored in its database.
