Anyone have any idea how to alter my name on facebook, i've gone in to edit profile and change the name but it is still the same on the page, ???? help

Don't worry dear,
just going into your profile setting.
Here in general option you will get name option.
Here you can easily change your profile name.

As you are telling that you are unable to edit your name in your facebook account,there may be some problem with you of not following the proper procedure of changing the name.The appropriate procedure of changing the name in the facebook account is click on the top right of any Facebook page and than select settings,click on username than insert your username and password,then save the changes you have done.Than check it by refreshing your account then you will see your name will be changed.
