Is He Trying To Get My Attention? Is There Signs That He Is Interested In Me?

so i'm in 8th grade and there is this guy i like and we known each other since 3rd grade and we have 3 classes together and in one of my classes we sit in a group table and he sits across from me and sometimes when we are writing in our notes he will stare & sometimes smile at me after he is done writing and wont look back or turn away when i look at him i don't know if this is a sign for attention?, then under the table he'll try to touch my feet or lightly kick me and nod or smile at me while doing that, then one day he sat next to me because he wanted to see how that seat is and always wanted to sit there it was kinda odd because his regular seat is across from me and all of a sudden he decides to move over where i'm sitting, i'm guessing this is a sign he wants to get close to me so now he made that his permanent seat and he tries to touch my knee or grab my thigh or lightly punch me in the leg and while we do an activity involving standing up he tickles me, in my other class there was a substitute and we had to work on this paper and so he said we can work with a partner and move around etc. so i did not move around or anything i just stayed in my seat some of my friends were already sitting where i was so i glanced to see where he was going to sit but he was at his regular seat for a little while until he moved to the table near us i was talking to my other guy friend at the same table about the paper and then he easily put himself into the conversation then after that he walked up to me and asked me about it again and then he sneakily sat at our table and we all started working on it but it was kinda odd that he just moved near me and then at our table working on the paper i'm also friends with him on Facebook and i am always the one to start the conversation but he doesn't mind and he seems to care and enjoys talking to me for example: one time he texts me a simple good morning and also i was feeling sad one time and he said don't be sad and he was trying to make me feel better we talk like every other day or sometimes everyday and i told him i missed him but then he started laughing i don't know what that means if he took it as a joke or he didn't want to say he missed me too
