is it possible to use windows media player without the internet connection?
also can you transfer music from itunes to windows media player?

Yes, it is possible to use WMP without internet connection. If your musics were ripped from the CD, you should be able to play it in WMP... If you purchase it through iTunes music store, you might not be able to play it since it has DRM embedded in the music file

You can play music and videos using WMP even without Internet connection if you got the files stored in your PC but you need Internet connection if you want to download from Itunes and other source.

No you dont need an internet connection when using media player however you cant transfer itunes to it because itunes is apple and apple is macromedia and they detest microsoft so they put up firewalls to stop the transfer.
