I need an answer to this controversial question. I say A my teacher says B. Who is right?
A British is lying critically ill in a Mexican hospital today after being struck by a lightning while she was riding a jet ski.
Ami Laurie, 19, from West Derby in Liverpool, was spending her summer holiday with her boyfriend at a beach in the resort of Cancun when she was hit by the bolt during a sudden storm. Some tourists rescued her and took her to hospital.
Yesterday the doctors said that her condition had stabilised after intensive treatment and she is now recovering.
A family friend yesterday said: “We are desperately hoping for good news from Mexico.
Amy has been looking forward to his dream holiday for ages and was really keen to go to Mexico. All her friends and family are thinking of her.”
Amy is still currently too ill to transferred back to the UK.
Friends have since left shocked messages on her Facebook page. One wrote:
“Hi babe, still can’t believe it. Loads of hugs, loves and kisses.”
Last night a Foreign Office spokeswoman said: “We are currently providing consular assistance to a British national who il in hospital in Cancun. We were immediately notified about the accident and we have been in regular contact with her family and the hospital.

4 Amy used to have a Facebook page.
a) right
b) wrong
c) doesn’t say

thank you
best answer shortly - if there is a best answer to this
wait: I said B, my teacher said A, which is obviously is wrong.

B. "...used to have..." implies that she no longer has a Facebook page which she must still have since people are posting their best wishes on it.
Your teacher is right.

I'll answer but this questions appears quite disassociated from the text in large part. There is only one reference to Facebook in it and it clearly says Amy (or Ami) has a Facebook page. So the question is oddly stated. The use of the words "used to have" is odd. Yes, Amy/Ami used to have a Facebook page - it says so in the text. But it appears she still DOES have a Facebook page so the question is better asked "Amy HAS a Facebook page." So, I suggest that A is correct. Not sure why or for what reason the teacher claims B is correct.

A. Ami did at some point have a FaceBook page, it says right there that friends left messages on her page. if it had been friends leaving messages on their own pages for her it would read "Friends have since left shocked messages on their Facebook page"

what is your teachers reasoning behind B?
