Can I play a PC game without internet connection?

I have a Toshiba laptop that I just bought but I didn't buy a wireless router yet. I have a Battlefield 2 (BF2) PC game and I want to play it even though I don't have a internet connection, can it still play without the connection. Also, when I do get the wireless connection can I still play on the multi-player without having to reinstall it.

Some games require an internet connection (Team Fortress, WoW, online games)

Some do not (the Sims, Warcraft, Mount & Blade)

Without an internet connection you can play single player mode on any game that has it, which is MOST. The only ones that don't tend to be MMORPGS, there should be a label on the back of the box STATING that you MUST have internet access to play the game.

Also you will be able to play multi-player after getting your wireless fine, you won't have to reinstall.

Yes battlefield has a single player mode by the way.
