How can I stop getting back together with him?

Hi, more than a year ago (august 2011) I met a guy on internet (yes i know it's stupid) he was kind, we we became best friends until december of that year he told me he had a crush on me... I told him that I liked him too but all of a sudden he started ignoring me and talking less to me. He had family issues and I understood that, I gave him all the time he wanted and needed and I wasn't intense at all in my opinion. In fact, we only talked 1 or 2 times a week for less than an hour. Then I got tired of that I told him several times that I didn't deserve that, etc. and every time he said he was going to chance he didn't, it would only last for a day or two maximum three days. This year, on July I decided to lost all contacts with him, I told him that I didn't want to talk to him ever again in my life. I went to a trip in Europe for 2 months (from August-October) and when I came back he saw all my pictures on Facebook and he inbox me saying that he misses me (after 3 moths without speaking) I missed him too so we started talking. he called me at nights etc for 3 days and that's it! He again started ignoring me for two weeks...yesterday he sent me a message and I didn't reply but I don't know what to do anymore. Please help me and thank you.

Because it isn't in person, it's much harder to confront him. He is only talking to you when it's convenient. He will never make you a priority unless the circumstances change. Don't fall for it.
