New laptop won't stay connected to Internet?

I bought a new Lenovo laptop recently. It will connect to the internet, but not for very long at all. It just randomly drops for no reason and then I can't reconnect to it. It also messes up my phones connection as well so I have to use my data. We have tried unplugging and restarting the interest router thing but nothing is working. What should I do?

You should use Linux or Windows 7. Windows 8 is crap. It is most non-productive.

M W doesn't know what they're talking about. i don't like win8, but it has its uses. ANyway, try hooking it up directly to a firewire, and if that doesn't work try rebooting. if that doesn't work, reinstall your OS. if that doesn't work, it's out of my league, and you should seek professional help.
