Is prcheck a reliable way to see if google views a site favorably?
For example if you were going to submit an article to a website for backlinks, bearing in mind for worthwhile content and what people and search engines like, etc.?

Thanks

If that tool is reporting Google Page rank, you are getting a measurement primarily of the number of links from other sites to that page, not strictly a rating b google, be aware page rank can be a bit stale, Google has averaged about 5 updates a year, less so lately.

Most people seeking backlinks for their site do examine page rank, but a few pros, rely on their own judgment of a page's quality.

If your goal is to create backlinks through article marketing, you should be aware of a few drawbacks to that plan.

Prior to 2012, this was a common practice and was working well for a lot of websites. Since the Penguin algorithm update in April of 2012, this is no longer the case.

What has happened to sites that host articles is that literally hundreds of poor quality sites use these articles to build up their own content. When they use your article, they are then going to post your backlink which will link your site to a poor or low quality site and that isn't good.

If you have specific article directories in mind, you should research each article directory and see if it was penalized by Penguin.

Generally speaking, now days, it is better to put good quality on your own site and give people sharing tools to share it.

Page Rank does still matter in the algorithm, but it is questionable how much it matters.

Good luck to you in your advertising.
