interent explorer gone after harddrive switch?

i have a windows 7 laptop that had a crashed hard drive. i swapped it with another hard drive from another laptop. the computer works well. i did a factory restore on the replacement hard drive and the computer runs perfectly. problem is the internet explorer icon has now disappeared and the computer is not picking up any wireless connections suddenly. what happened to this computer and how do i fix it???
let me add more on the secondary issue. when i try to go down and see my connections, there are non at all. its as is wireless internet (or internet all together) does not exist on this computer suddenly.

navigate to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer. you should be able to find the icon there.

for your wireless problem reinstall your WAN routers from your laptop manufacturers support website.

To get IE icon back Click your Rubbish Bin on screen and click your c drive and Right click Program Files[x86] and click Internet Explorer and find iexplore [should be Application] Right Click it and can either Send it to Start, Desktop or Task Bar or all three. Have no idea about wireless connection as could be many things. One is did you join a Home Group, Two could be that your Router or Modem needs to be Reset.

1)Open "My Computer and go into the hard drive (it probably will be called "local disk" in drive C:\).


2)Open the file called "Program Files".


3)If you use Firefox, continue on, if you use Internet Explorer, skip to step 7.


4)Find the folder called "Mozilla" or any folder that has anything relating to Firefox and open it.


5)Right-click the Icon and have windows make a short-cut to the desktop.


6)Skip to step 9.


7)Find the folder called "Internet Explorer" and open it.


8)Right-click the Icon and have Windows make a short-cut to the desktop.


9)Test your new icon.
