Can java write code for a web page that can manipulate images?
What I mean is this. If I was designing a web page, or some social networking site like instagram, and I needed code that allowed me to upload an image and then manipulate that image, by adding filters etc, how is that code written? Is it with java? Or is there a way in which dll files can be used in web design?
The key here is that I am hoping to be able to not only upload images to the site, but to be able to manipulate the images(with filters etc) within the site. Can code be written for such a thing? Ads |

php or javascript.... or more than likely both. but it depends on what kind of filters you want applied...... to broad a topic to tell you exactly how.

Javascript can turn an image into an array of pixels and vice-versa, so you can use it to apply filters. I don't think you can save the result though.
PHP can also manipulate images, I have written code that turns a photograph into a three color image (posterization). In general though (and I assume Instagram does this), the uploaded image is saved, then php (or whatever they use) calls an executable that will process the file. |
