Chrome VS Explorer website desktop icon! Please help!!!!?

I have Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, I want to add a website as a desktop icon but it defaults to Google Chrome browser however the program on the website can only run on Internet Explorer. I also have another website as a desktop item which was made before I installed Chrome and it changed from being opened into an Internet Explorer browser to a Chrome browser. So how can I make these desktop pages open into a Internet Explorer browser?
