Can my ISP look at my Facebook messages?
I've always thought my connection to Facebook is encrypted

Yes but its not worth it they would need to go though a lot of work to do that. Its quicker and easier for FB to just read them.

of course - your ISP monitors all your traffic and the police can subpoena it at any time if you are breaking the law

Well everything that someone does over the internet is stored somewhere. Your ISP can store every webpage and everything that you do over the internet because it has to go through them before it come to you.

No they can't look at your facebook messages unless they hack into your account or get your password. But they wouldn't do that anyway because no one has the time to do it or would even bother to do it.

I wouldn't worry about my ISP looking at my facebook messages.
