Need help with grammar and punctuation.?
I want to make sure that this paragraph is well written. If some one wants to help me that would be nice.

This is just a paragraph of an essay about the causes of war.

If we compare wars back then and wars now, there are many important differences, the question is, do wars fought for freedom? Many wars are not fought for liberty or security. Basically, today war's are fought for imperialism to power and influence other countries by military force. Today's war are fought for an economic interest. George W Bush mentioned - "if we don't attack them over there, they will attack us here.” when he order the intervention in Iraq because of suspicion of nuclear weapons. The reality was, there wasn't nuclear weapons found. People started asking about why sending troops to Iraq without a reason. There was a reason, oil. Many wars had been fought for natural resources, or to conquer land. Germany tried to conquer the world back in the 1909 and it caused a global catastrophe know as world war. People this days don't fight for freedom or protection, they fight for an economic interest.

This is how I would write it:

If we compare wars from the past to wars of today, we will find many monumental differences. The big question is: Are wars necessary for national freedom? Liberty and security are no longer main reasons as to why country's partake in war. Today, wars are mainly fought due to the desire of the growth of an empire (imperialism) through the use of military force especially for economic needs. Due to suspicion of the creation of nuclear weapons in Iraq, former US president George W Bush sent troops to Iraq. George W Bush said "If we don't attack them over there, they will attack us here.” In reality, nuclear weapons were never found. People started asking why were troops being sent to Iraq without a reason. The reason was oil. Many wars have occurred over the desire to gain natural resources or to conquer land. Germany tried to conquer the world in the early twentieth century. As a result, a global catastrophe know as world war occurred. People these days don't fight for freedom or protection, they fight for an economic interest
