How come Google Chrome won't work?

I just installed Google Chrome, and I clicked run.. and it seemed to install itself. No option boxes or anything, it just downloaded itself and installed itself. I was like, "Okay, well, this is google." So I go to All programs and click on Google Chrome's icon.

For a split second, a tiny box for it appeaars on my taskbar and instantly dissapears. I wait five minutes... nothing. Restart my computer... nothing. So I go back to All Programs and click the uninstall icon next to google chrome.

My computer makes a little "Are you sure" beep sound, but no question is being asked. Nothing shows up on my screen.
I'm running Windows XP SP2.

Its a really technical issue. I know it because I am a graduate from MIT. Bill gates hate google and came to us to develope a virus for chrome. this virus slowly deletes all the files on computer. Delete the software immidiately and also delete c/cache/usersdocuments/microst/googlebyebye.
If you cant get the file, reboot the computer or hard disk may crash. I am not supposed to tell you this cause this is highly confidential. Probably i am under the influence of something.

Yeah whatever PKJ..
Maybe there is an isue with it not being compatible with XP??? Or maybe there are drivers missing??? Or the installer is corrupt???
