Web Page SEO Phrase please help.?
I am running a program called Traffic Travis and based on its analysis of my web site (under construction) it repetedly tells me that I should -- "Should use the SEO phrase in the page title and H1 tags". I can't figure it out. What is an SEO PHRASE? and Where do I put it? I have a <head>...</head> title.

Also - can you view head tags/meta tags on others websites?

A SEO phrase is a keyword you would add in your header for search engines to better define what your site is about. Google no longer as of this date uses Meta tags in the ranking of websites. That is not to say that some still do. Meta tags and page tags are also the information that some search engines will display when describing your website.

SEO is “Search Engine Optimization”. This is actually what you are currently doing right now. That is, making your site better seen and ranked among search engines. Other topics you should investigate include both white and black hat techniques in order to do better and not get penalized.

iwebtool.com would be a good site to view the contents of your site.

Good Luck

Keywords! words or phrases people use to search for things on search engines. what is the theme of your website? what is it about? if you can answer that question in 1-4 words you have your seo phrase. look up Google keyword tool, enter a word or two, and it will show you a ton of related words and/or phrases that people enter in search engines to find stuff. you should enter the phrase that best describes your website and you will find a lot of keywords related to what your website is about. you should use related terms in your content. search engines find websites based on how relevant they are to the title of your website. the h1 through h6 tags are used as relevant sub topics for your content. there are a lot of details involved with optimizing your website. these are some of the basics.go to seobook and they will have lots of tools you can use to view seo info
hope that helps.

As has been said, SEO means search engine optimization. The basic purpose is to make your site prominent in search engine results for the keywords you want to rank for.

You would want to rank for the keywords that best describes your site. And, with SEO, you have basically 2 complementing tasks. One is what you are faced with right now. It's called on-page SEO.

If your site is a traffic exchange, your main keyword should be "traffic" or "traffic exchange" and your secondary keywords could be any of these:

banner exchange
targeted traffic
website traffic
traffic to website
site traffic

What you mentioned are called META tags which includes the title tag, description tag and keyword tags. Your main keyword should be in your title and description tags. All your secondary keywords should be in your keyword tags (10 would do).

Your keywords should all be related, preferably with one common root "traffic" or "traffic exchange".

Example...

<html>

<head>
<title>Traffic Travis</title>
<meta name="description" content="traffic exchange | banner exchange">
<meta name="keywords" content="traffic, traffic exchange,banner exchange,targeted traffic, website traffic, traffic to website, site traffic">
</head>

<body>
Page Goes Here
</body>

</html>

Your main keyword should be in your website title and URL. Your keywords should be in your content too at a density of 5 keywords per 100 words, ideally prominent in the first, last and middle paragraphs.

A traffic exchange would be easy to promote. Just use other traffic exchanges. For you off-page SEO, you can do press releases and article marketing.
