How long will 3gb last me on the internet?

I am getting Samsung Galaxy s3, soon and it has 3GB. I have wifi at home, but if I am on a trip or someone's house, how much can I use without going over? I mostly use facebook and instagram. So yeah. I never play games. I might download apps, but I will do that when I have wifi.

Well if that's all you are doing and not watching movies/videos or playing any online games then that 3gb should last you a very long time. If you visit facebook 50 times a day on your phone you are only looking at around 10mb at most.(1024mb=1gb) so unless you're visting facebook and instagram thousands of times a day you would be fine.

I work in mobile telecom's. Most of my customers which browse facebook, check the news, send & receive emails, download applications and play the odd youtube video get along just fine with only 1gb of data a month. If your using instagram you will be uploading pictures so that shouldn't be included(however check this as some networks are changing the rules as uploading data becomes more common and is congesting the networks).

The galaxy S3 has the option to display full webpages(as you would see on your home pc) or the option to prioritise mobile web display first. I would recommend the latter.

p.s make sure to set the wi-fi as priority

The industry average is far less data than your getting so you should be fine as long as you stay away from data intensive applications like video and audio streaming.

If you don't watch videos or download a lot of pictures, 3 GB will last a very long time. As long as you use Wi-Fi whenever possible, that should be plenty for what you want it for. I only have 2 GB and have never gone over, but then again I rarely use it because pretty much everywhere I go there is Wi-Fi now.
