For WIN XP Starter Edition, which is lightest browser, consumes least RAM, memory resources & lowest footprint?
Which is the lightest browser, and which will need least RAM, i.e. lowest memory resources &will have lowest footprint? Have WIN XP Starter Edition, INTEL Celeron Processor 1.6 Ghz & have only 512 MB RAM installed,

Tried using MOZILLA FIREFOX , Google CHROME, Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7 but all are slow & lethargic and even simple browsing, checking email on YAHOO/GMAIL & FACEBOOK is impossible. Please help from practical experience on similar machines.

You should try opera 12, link has been attached.

A FRANK ADVICE ALSO:-
You should quit using xp and upgrade your pc to run better versions of windows.Microsoft is ending support for xp which means that it will be hard to find new applications that can run on xp Sad

Mozilla firefox is the best light browser for all purpose. It takes minimum place and in the back ground uses chrome search engine. The slow and lethargic speed related to the number of start up items at the time booting and continuing in the background place. Try to minimise the startup, by going to the system properties.Type msconfig in the Run command box and in the emerging box, check that only needed items are started. Ofcourse, you could allow antivirus. Other updates and other programs, you could click to open, and not to have them in start up folder.
There is a bootvis utility, which you can run to have the boot sequence in order there by giving speed in browsing. You can download the same in this secured site.
