Do I have a virus?
I was on a website and a popup came up saying that all of my files were locked and it said it was from the police. I closed it immediately because I know it's phishing.

I can still open all of my files and stuff.

Has this popup now given me a virus? I'm doing a scan right now.
It opened my browser in a new window.
I am running a Macbook Pro Mavericks.
I didn't click on anything and nothing downloaded.

Potentially, the sight may of been a troll or it was a fake pop up which can get you a virus if clicked on

Yep definatly a scam. This one can sometimes be hard to get rid off. I've seen it in several variants, some are easy to remove some need a registry hack to clear everything out.

You definatly need to upgrade your firewall if you got hit.
