Computer/Internet advice!?
I live in a halls of residence they have wifi there for all the students to use. The SSL search is off and I can only access https websites (and some other websites) but I can't get onto my fav website (a warriors cats roleplay which I love to do in my spare time, don't judge). And also facebook is only text. it works fine at my house but not at the dorms and everyone else's internet is working fine, like facebook. I am wondering if its the computer itself as it is a fairly old make but I bought it a year ago....I was thinking about a new laptop or buying a wifi hotspot (can you do that I am sure you can)....and the roleplay website is PG13 so I'm not sure why they would block it or anything.....but how can I get on it when SSL search is off?!?!

sorry I wrote this quickly! >.< any help would be appreciated! x

Hello

If you can only use https websites, then this means port 443 is being used. Thereby SSL is being used.

SSL won't work if you use http. You said you are using https, so SSL should work.

SSL is not used, for searching. SSL is used with https. By default websites use http, but you might see some websites use https instead of http.

For example:

If you see a website called https://www.educationisgoodforyou.com, this means port 443 is being used with a server, and SSL is also being used with a server.

PS

Your computer is not old. You probably don't know how to use your computer. I suggest you get some computer lessons to learn how to use your computer. I think you don't need to purchase what you said in your question.

It's possible your school might block some websites. You should be learning while your a student.
