SEO: Google Has Issues?
Two of my websites rank very well with MSN, Yahoo, Dogpile.com
and others. However, for some reason it does not rank well with Google. I don't get it! I have noticed that an RSS Feed Directory is ranking #17 and they've used my title tag and have added a link to my website. Is this huring?

Google has a very different search algorithm than MSN and Yahoo. The longevity of your site plays a factor into where you will rank in Google. Where as MSN, you could have built your site 2 weeks ago, built some links to it and realistically obtain a top 10 ranking for your keywords.

Regarding the link to your site. No link to your site can hurt your site. It doesn't matter what site is linking to you. If this were the case bad incoming links hurt your site, there would be wars of people linking from bad sites to their competition sites.

My suggestion for your site, no matter what site it is. Google is heavily reliant on off-site optimizing. In other words building links to your website from relevant websites. Not competition sites, or sites that do the same thing as yours, there is a difference, I personally use these guys to find my links http://www.linkingexperts.com . If your site is new, you will need to give it some time as well.

I hope this helps.

Google is king right now, doesnt matter if your sites ranks well in MSN or Yahoo..google will give you about 70% or more of traffic..

What you need are good quality backlinks
such as Link Exchange (not dead yet), one way links (write articles) and etc .....

MSN is very goofy. I have a site that ranks in the first page of results for the local keywords on Google and Yahoo. For some reason I have never gotten answered, MSN does not even index the site. Its been this way for 2 years now. I've finally decided that they are not worth my time. But Google is worth your time.
Just keep building inbound links to your website.
Most of the directories online charge a one time fee to review your site and add it to their index. Here are three of my favorites:

http://www.kahmer.com
http://www.joeant.com
The more inbound links to your site, the better you will rank
with Yahoo / Google / MSN.
Also work on your meta tags. Here is an
article on how they work: http://www.richkahmer.com/meta-tags.html
